The Dream is now available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Borders and all major bookstores. You may want to call in advance to see if your local store has received their copies yet. If you’re in the UK and Canada – the book should be hitting stores shortly. I’ve also received many positive reviews from the folks that have already read it. Feel free to share these comments in this blog.

Here’s to never stopping, in reaching for the stars!

I finished it in three sittings. I enjoyed it more because being a punjabi sikh in US was able to relate to it very well. I was not very surprised to see how you felt to the treatment owing to your background. With the God given strength and determination you were able to succeed phenomenally.Y
I am recommending this to all young punjabi boys as a MUST READ.

Wanted to get you book just by visiting the Barns & noble instead of ordering from Amazon as I could not wait for it to be deivered. Today after having dinner, I drove over to Arden Mall Book Store in Sacramento with the hope of getting it, but they did’t had it. They told me that they will call me when they get it in the store.

I guess I will have to wait …, I have one thing in common and that is passion for the Internet !

Will comment further after getting your book.

So, I walked into a Barnes and Noble store last night to clear my head (by reading) because I was having a bad day. I walked all around the store looking for something interesting to read and i stumbled upon the only copy of your book. I was very surprised to see that only ONE copy was left in such a big New York City Barnes and noble store. I guess that made me want to check it out. I started reading and I just couldn’t put it down. With all due respect, I cared less about your business ventures and your success and the business tips. What really touched me was how you described your family life. It reminded me of my family and their conservative attitude. I still find it hard to believe that your dad allowed you to drop out of school so easily. I am sure it was a lot more dramatic than you made it sound. No? There is so much in life that I didn’t get to do because my parents didn’t allow it (being a girl and all). I wish Indian parents were more understanding. Anyways, I just wanted to say that I enjoyed the book. It made me forget about my bad day. It’s refreshing to finally see our people doing well. Good luck to you in your future endeavors. Keep up the good work and keep writing. Cheers

PS: based on my what i have learned – there is no such rule in the Sikh religion that one MUST or MUST NOT do something. IE: not cut your hair. What the Guru Granth Sahib says is that one SHOULD preserve his or her natural beauty. Preserve what god has given you but there is no rule that says that you MUSTN’T do something. At least that’s what i grew up learning. Just a thought…

i was wondering if you’ve considered doing an audio book version?
also, will you be doing any book signings in sf? would like to make your book an autographed gift to a friend with an entrepreneurial streak.

  13. Scarlett Says:

I saw your interview today on the “Bonnie Hunt” show. I was very impressed with your entrepreneurial mindset at such a young age, and your faith and confidence in it.
As I was watching the “Bonnie Hunt” show, it was the first time I had heard of your book or about your road to success. I am sorry I missed the “Oprah” episode. I thought the premise of the “Secret Millionaire” show is wonderful and will tune in to that tonight. I look forward to picking up your book, and gaining insight from it as I am trying to start a new chapter in my life with seeking a different career path. I have a feeling that your book is a terrific tool for encouragement.

I appreciate your humble accounting of your road to success, and that you still seem so very down to earth. You came across as appreciative of all that you have attained without becoming egotistical as a result, nor forgetting the hardships in reaching that success.

Many more best wishes for you, as I hope you find that success in all areas of your life.

    Sincerely,
    Scarlett

    Hi Gurbaksh,

Finally got your book in the mail yesterday afternoon. Started reading last night and I could not put it down. I am happy to say that I have finished reading your entire book!

I found the part of how you went into detail about describing the process of obtaining your first Lambo to be an enjoyable read. Great stuff!

“I could smell something burning, but I figured it was all part of the sports car experience.”

Overall a very good read! Two thumbs up on the last chapter where you share your lessons of entrepreneurship. There was a lot I was able to take away, so thank you for that.

I wish you continued success. Keep on making it happen.

    Best,

    Frank

I plan on buying your book when I get some money. But does it also have information on how to be an internet entrepreneur as well. At least some guidance?

  19. Joan Says:

    Hi G,

I bought The Dream for my brother to show him that personality, ambition and courage are only some of the required qualities one person must have to pursuit his or her dream(s). After reading the first two chapters of your book, we were about fighting whose going to read the next ones first. What I like about your story, is that you’re telling everything in a chronological order, starting with your family background(parents, immigration, your religion)to whatever brought you to decide to quit school and your determination to follow your (business) instinct when you were still a child. It’s amazing and such a truth what kind of perseverance, strength, insight… are needed to get closer to one’s dream with each step forward…I’m joyfull and thrilled to read the following chapters. Best regards J.
